Terms of Use Policy for Digital Communities

By joining the UCA Students’ Union Community, you agree to follow our Terms of Use:

  • We operate a trust-based entry policy. You must complete the request to join prompts to confirm the course you are either enrolled in or currently an offer holder to use the Digital Community. You may be contacted to provide proof of your student status if we suspect you are not a student or offer holder.
  • Any content shared in the group is to be relevant to the audience, i.e. related to the university, UCA, and your Students’ Union.
  • This is not a platform for complaints. There are complaints processes for you to follow. We understand that you may have some posts of this nature, and it is up to the Digital Community moderators to decide if posts are appropriate. If your post is deemed not to be, it will be removed, and you will be directed to use official complaint channels.
  • Content which is deemed to be any of the below will be removed:
    • Abusive or personal attacks
    • Material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, slanderous, hateful or embarrassing to any other entity
    • Unauthorised third-party advertising
    • Chain letters or ‘spam’

You will be blocked and banned from the Community permanently if you fail to follow these Terms of Use.

Staying Safe Online

  • As a Digital Community member, never include your phone number, email, address or other personal information in a post or comment for your safety. Your comments are visible to all group members. If you wish to find who you will be living with or someone to live with, please just post the building and not your complete address. We will remove anything that we believe puts your safety at risk.
  • You’ll also find some top tips in the Digital Communites when it comes to finding Private accommodation, so be sure to check these out and bear them in mind when on your housing hunt!
  • If you see any content within the Digital Community you think doesn’t follow our terms of use, please let us know by reporting the post to our admin and moderators or contacting us at union@uca.ac.uk.
