Our annual Union Awards event is an opportunity to celebrate student volunteers, activities, projects and events from the academic year. 

Various awards are up for grabs from a variety of categories, from Club of the Year, Staff Member of the Year, Best Student Performance at an Event, Course Rep of the Year and much more!

Students and staff can nominate themselves and others during the nomination period, and winners are chosen by a selection panel. 

The Union Awards is one of our highlight events of the year filled with celebration, performances from clubs and societies, music and the chance to glam up if you like!

It usually takes place in May at the Farnham campus' Glasshouse venue. 

 

Farnham

Weydon School

We have partnered up with Weydon School (Weydon Lane, Farnham, Surrey, GU9 8UG) to offer UCA students state of the art sports facilities and the opportunity to get the very best out of their club memberships. Facilities include two astroturf all-weather pitches which are home to our men’s and women’s Football and Tag Rugby clubs and indoor sprung wooden floor Sports Hall; used by our Basketball, Netball and Volleyball clubs. It is wheelchair accessible and there are changing rooms available.

   

By foot

A quick 20 minute walk from campus, the route is pretty simple!

By bike

Having a bike is a great way to move around Farnham, not only do you get in shape but it’s affordable too. Weydon School is a short 7 minutes bike ride away.

By car

There is free parking onsite if you wish to go by car and the journey takes 5 minutes!

By Bus

The number 18 bus goes from outside Sainsburys and stops right in front of the school. A quick 15 minutes and you are there!

W40 Performance Space (Glasshouse Dance Floor)

The space is a multi-purpose room used by the Acting and Performance course, for events and is also home to our campus based sports clubs such as Martial Arts Club, Latin Dance Club and Boxing Club.

The space can be accessed through the automatic grey door at the far end of the Canteen and it is also wheelchair accessible.

Society Room Bookings

Most university classrooms are available for club and society bookings. Popular rooms for activities include G03, W612, G151 and W05. If you are unsure where any room is, just pop into the Union and we will be able to help you.

Sport Clubs

Rhino Teamwear are the main suppliers for UCA Students’ Union sports kit and leisurewear.  You will be able to purchase personalized playing kit as well as leisurewear such as training tops, shorts, hoodies, leggings and much more. Rhino Teamwear and Varsity Apparel are a sustainable clothing company and comply with the environmental responsibility policies for UCASU.

 

There is a wide range of items available for clubs to buy, if there is something that is not listed on the Rhino website please contact the Activties Coordinator and we will discuss with Rhino to see if it is something they can provide.
