The UCASU Annual General Meeting shall be held at 5pm on Wednesday 18 February 2021 via Zoom.
What is an Annual General Meeting (AGM) and why is it so important?
The AGM is a large forum the Students’ Union must hold once a year to allow its members the opportunity to debate and decide the direction of the Union for the upcoming year. You will be given the chance to discuss the work of your full-time elected officers, hear reports from the Board of Trustees, and discuss policy that effects every student!
Not only can you ask the questions you want answered, you can see how the Union works on every level and submit motions to be discussed and voted upon!
Submitting a motion
Do you have a proposal for policy, a campaign you think the Executive Committee should be mandated to run, or think the Union needs to focus more on a specific topic? An AGM motion is your chance to have it discussed and voted upon by other students!
Putting forward a motion to the AGM is as easy as 1,2,3!
1. Download the motion template below.
2. Complete the form
3. Email to union@uca.ac.uk by 6pm, Wedneday 10 February
Motions will be discussed and voted upon by all members of the Union present at the AGM. Voting is a majority win and conducted by a show of hands. If, for any reason, you would prefer a certain vote to be taken in secret, just let a Union member of staff know at the beginning of the meeting and this will be arranged.
Decisions made at the AGM not only influence the Union but impact the future student experience at UCA and we can’t do any of this without you!
Look forward to seeing you there!
