Black Lives Matter

We are appalled and saddened by the murder of George Floyd by a police officer in Minnesota, US. As a Students' Union that strives to support every student in their university journey, this is an issue we can’t stay silent on. Although this murder is horrifying, this is far from the first time a police officer has murdered a black civilian. It cannot be allowed to continue unchallenged. Racism is deeply ingrained in our society and it is every person's duty to call it out, protest and fight for change.

So today before we go into a social media blackout for the rest of this week, we invite you to educate yourselves. Donate and support the cause of Black Lives Matter in any way you can, and be an active ally from now on.

See our Instagram highlights HERE for ideas on how to help, where to donate, and ways to learn more about racism and white supremacy. We will be planning further action to support anti-racism and anti-fascist movements, which we will share later on this week. Any other relevant recourses will be added to out highlights and to this post.
