This week's by-elections for the roles of Campus Executive Officer and NUS delegate are now suspended, to be held again at the end of November. The nominations will not be re-opened, but voting will now instead take place 16th-17th November 2017. This means that campaigning is also suspended until that voting period opens again.

This decision has been made as a result of a failure by our third-party service to provide the voting system to our students. We contract an external company to run the election process for us, and during this by-election they have failed to send students accurate voting links, preventing them from voting within the short by-election period. This caused a major disruption to students' ability to vote and potentially reduced the fairness of the by-election. We decided that in order to provide a free and fair election for our students, and to give the candidates their best chance to promote themselves, suspending the election and instead running the voting process ourselves is the best way forward.

Voting will instead be held by paper ballot, organised by UCA Students' Union, from 16th-17th November. If you have any further questions about this process or about why the decision was made, please contact the Deputy Returning Officer, Sophie Jackson on
