Job Purpose

University for the Creative Arts Students’ Union (UCASU) provides support, enrichment, and representation for over 6,000 students. The Students’ Union is split between four separate campuses across Surrey and Kent, each one offering a range of courses to study. This means that every campus is different, bringing its own set of unique personalities, opportunities, and expectations. Students are at the heart of everything we do.

Glasshouse is the number one late night venue in Farnham, based right in the heart of campus. Whatever you’re in to, we like to think that Glasshouse has something for you. From chilled acoustic sessions and quiz nights, right through to Ibiza-style foam parties and burlesque events. It’s also the home for our Freshers, Halloween, and Summer Balls.

These events create social opportunities and can be hugely beneficial to students’ mental health, to unwind from studies. This year more than ever, we want to include students at the heart of everything that we do. You have the chance to join the official events team and help make the best nighttime experience possible for all UCASU members, by helping to plan, promote and deliver the programme of events.

There are many elements that go into making a successful event and two days in a row are rarely the same. The role requires you to work in a variety of positions for event planning and delivery. There is also the chance to progress and further develop in areas where you excel and are passionate about.

Job Description

Please note – The role may require you to work across any days in the week or weekends. Often you will be required to work at night times and finishing after the venue has closed. This role is working for the events team and is not a bar position. However if you are interested in working for the bar, please let us know of your interest so we can pass your interest to the applicable person.
