For the first time, the Students’ Union is setting up Campus Committees and you could be one of the students involved from the start.
Here's the idea...
A group of students on your campus who actually listen to what students are saying, work out what matters most, and make it happen.
That's your Campus Committee.
Interested in being part of it?
We'd love to have you involved in this exciting change from the very start.
Your role would be Campus Representative, a brand new opportunity with real power and amazing experience to be gained.
You won't be working alone. You'll be alongside other Campus Reps, Senior Course Reps and your Campus President, all pulling in the same direction.
Together, you’ll listen to students, agree what needs attention and decide how issues should be moved forward.
How it will work...
The Campus Committee will meet four times over the course of the year.
Most of the work will happen between the meetings though - this is your chance to talk to students, develop ideas, and turn them into something you can act on.
The meetings are where everyone comes together: to compare notes, agree priorities, and decide what happens next.
As a Campus Representative, you’ll help turn students’ shared experiences into organised action.
What roles are available?
There are three different Campus Representative roles available for you to apply for.
They are:
- Community & Belonging Representative: Build relationships across student groups to understand issues of community, wellbeing and inclusion, and bring students together to take collective ownership of the changes they want.
- Creativity & Student Experience Representative: Work with students and Senior Course Reps to identify recurring themes in teaching, assessment, facilities and employability, and turn those shared experiences into action through the Campus Committee.
- Campus Priority Representative: Lead a locally agreed campus priority by listening to those affected, gathering evidence and involving other students to build shared ownership of a collective response.
How to apply
If you can see yourself bringing students together and helping move campus priorities forward, we’d like to hear from you.
You don’t need previous representative experience and will get full training from the SU.
We’re just looking for students who are willing to listen, build relationships, work collaboratively and develop as student leaders.
