Donations & Voulunteers Needed

From labelling Christmas gifts in Farnham to providing foodbank donations in Epsom and Rochester, any support you can offer this Holiday Season will be very much appreciated.

We have teamed up with charities across Surrey and Kent to support people in our local communities this Holiday Season. 
 

Volunteering Opportunity in Farnham

We are teaming up with The Trussel Trust’s Farnham Foodbank to support people in the local community this Christmas. The Foodbank has sourced Christmas presents for local families and need help labelling them all! This will be taking place Friday 26th November and Friday 3rd December between 10.30AM - 12PM at a location in central Farnham just minutes from campus.

Foodbank items wanted in Epsom and Rochester

With 1 in 5 people in the UK living below the poverty line, it’s vital that we offer our support to those in need. We’ve teamed up with The Trussel Trust’s foodbank branches in Epsom & Ewell and Medway to run a collection operation and we would love your help!

Epsom

The following items are required:

Christmas selection boxes

Christmas napkins

Christmas tablecloths

Christmas tea towels

Christmas puddings*

Savoury snacks

Tinned ham

Christmas sweet treats

Mince pies*

Chutneys*

Packet stuffing

Packet trifle mix*

*Please ensure items don’t contain alcohol

Please bring donations to the Students’ Union on the Epsom campus (we’re located in the canteen) and placed in the box situated outside the SU office.

The deadline for Epsom donations is 10AM, Thursday 2nd December. We will be transporting the items to the drop-off point later that day.

Rochester

The following items are required:

Tinned potatoes

Crackers (for cheese)

Sponge puddings

Instant mash

Plain rice

Soap (bar / liquid)

Tinned tomatoes

Pasta/Cook-in sauce

Sanitary towels or tampons

Passata

Tinned fruit

Hot chocolate

Long-life (UHT) milk

Christmas pudding

Christmas fruit cake

Dried milk

Christmas sweet treats

Tinned rice pudding

Fruit squash

Tea bags (small boxes)

Shower gel

Sweet spreads e.g. jam

Instant coffee (small jars)

Savoury spreads e.g. peanut butter

Sugar (500g packs)

Razors & Shaving foam

Hair conditioner

Angel Delight

Pouches of flavoured rice, pasta or noodles e.g. “Super Noodles”

Gravy granules/stock cubes

 

The foodbank would currently prefer not to receive baked beans, pasta and tinned soup.

Please bring your donations to the Students’ Union on the Rochester campus (we’re located at the back of the Refectory) and place in the box situated outside the SU.

The deadline for Rochester donations is 5PM, Monday 6th December. We will be transporting the items to the drop-off point the following day.
