We provide the mats and blocks every session but you are welcome to bring your own. Please wear comfortable gym wear/loose clothing. No jeans or constrictive clothing.

 

We meet on Tuesdays from 5:15-6:15pm in the Gallery. The first taster session is 17th October and the second is next week on the 24th.

We must meet our minimum requirement to keep going so if you wish to join the club and keep the club going please sign up as soon as possible. 

 

Membership is £50 for the rest of the year, until March, which equals to around £2.50 per session!

 

INSTRUCTOR BIO

 

Khadeeja Sheikh

After having suffering from ill health on and off for most of my adult life, I began to realise the role of stress as a trigger and noticed how great I felt after yoga. Then my yoga journey of healing began. It has carried me through since 2002 when I first tried a class, although I had a hiatus during my children’s’ early years. Only in 2015/16 did I finally decide to do my teacher training to help bring this amazing practice to more people.

I am a Yogi, Artist and a devoted mother of 2. I find the synergy of Yoga and Art so powerful-both are rooted in a deep mindfulness practice to allow us to become present in our lives and find clarity despite the constant mind chatter that makes us numb to our feelings. My mission is to help people get in touch with FEELING their body wisdom and LISTENING to its guidance from that beautiful stillness that the asanas (postures) and meditation create thus discovering a new sense of self intimacy. 

When we change our inner world then our outer world mirrors that and it allows us to see our truth and trust ourselves on a deeper level.

I am focused on teaching deep awareness through our body connection, so I pay close attention to alignment and learning to drop the ego driven ‘achieving’ practice in order that we may breed more loving kindness and compassion. I am interested in furthering my learning with yoga Nidra, Yin and pregnancy yoga qualifications..

I love to finish my classes with a reflective thought, poem or question. I find it takes the whole class to a deeper level so that the practice not only opens the body but also the mind to new possibilities and ways of looking at the world. Most importantly, I make sure every person leaves my class feeling better than when they arrived.
