About Canterbury Queer Student Alliance

Welcome to Canterbury's Queer Student Alliance! If you're looking for a space to meet others, feel connected to your community, and participate in regular socials and events then we might be for you! We offer regular events, socials, and activities, including movie nights, queer literature readings, discussions, pub crawls, and more, as well as a regular on-campus site where you can access support and advice when you need it ✷✷✷

Joining the QSA is completely free. Members can expect the following:

  • A space that celebrates and supports all members of the queer community, and champions awareness of intersectionality. Being LGBT+ is only part of what makes up each individual, and we want to ensure we're inclusive of all aspects of each member's identity.

  • Regular Social, Informational, Charity, and Advocacy events. These events provide us with opportunities to educate, foster community, celebrate queerness + raise money for charitable organizations.

  • Help and support when you need it. The society is here for you and will provide resources to get whatever support you require.

  • Advocation for you, and the wider UCA LGBT+ community. We're committed to making the campus a more inclusive space and will continue to ask for feedback throughout the year as to how we can best support students.

Drop-in sessions will be held on Monday & Tuesday afternoons beginning in October, as well as a monthly social! More info on our sessions can be found on our Instagram @UCAQSA.
