RAG Working Group

Who are they?

The RAG Working Group is made up of student volunteers, who additionally to their studies, work together alongside the Activities Manager to raise thousands of pounds for charity. Volunteering commitment can range between 5-10 hours a week. The positions include:

 

Vice-Chair

  • Oversees all the activities of the RAG Working Group.
  • Management of working group’s workload to ensure they are fulfilling their responsibilities.
  • Set the agenda of working group meetings.
  • Motivate working group members and volunteers to reach their maximum potential.
  • Stay up to date with National Student Fundraising Association events and resources.
  • Set a direction that ensures it remains current, innovative and popular.
  • Initiate events, activities and campaigns to continually increase the RAG total.
  • Contribute to all RAG activity and involved in other unforeseen activities, i.e. counting money, talking to students etc.

 

Activities Rep

  • Liaises and builds relationships with clubs/societies/communities to ensure maximum partition.
  • Promote the Adopt a Charity Scheme to Activities groups.
  • Works with the Activities Manager and Presidents to engage as many students as possible.
  • Work towards the target of every group being involved in RAG.
  • Contribute to all RAG activity and involved in other unforeseen activities, i.e. counting money, talking to students etc.

 

Finance Rep

  • Responsible for creating budgets for fundraisers.
  • Responsible for money collection, storage and counting.
  • Keeps track of fundraising collections and amounts.
  • Adhere to Union policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Charity Law.

 

Social and Events Rep

  • Manage resources required to host events and activities.
  • Researches and generates ideas for new events, activities and ways to increase the fundraising total.
  • Ensure Working Group are fully briefed on all the events and activities so they can appropriately support them and assist in their development.
  • Works closely with Union staff to ensure that all RAG and Union Procedures and Policies are conformed for each Event and Activities. Such as Health and Safety, Risk Assessments and Event Plans.
  • Ensure all RAG events conform to appropriate Union, University and Legal Guidelines.
  • Contribute to all RAG activity and involved in other unforeseen activities, i.e. counting money, talking to students etc.

 

Marketing Rep

  • Promote RAG events, activities and campaigns.
  • Have the responsibility of delivery social media activity for RAG and create newsletters with termly newsletters.
  • Develop creative campaigns to engage students via social media.
  • Ensure all RAG communications are appropriately branded.
  • Design marketing materials for RAG
  • Utilise print media and social media for effective promotion of RAG.
  • Liaise with event organisers to make sure promotional material is accurate and effective.
  • Work with Union Communications and Design Manager and Design Assistant.
  • Contribute to all RAG activity and involved in other unforeseen activities, i.e. counting money, talking to students etc.

 

First Year Rep

  • Liaise with University Accommodation to encourage RAG activities from first years.
  • Help support and advice any first years with fundraising ideas.
  • Track the events of first years and feedback their income to the Finance Rep.
  • Promote RAG to first years and educate members as to what they want to do.

The deadline to apply for any of these positions is November 1st. You will then be informally interviewed by members of Union staff.
