Resignation of Katie Taylor and notice of By-Election

We regret to announce that Katie Taylor, President Kent 2019/20, has submitted her notice of resignation and will be leaving the Union next month. Her final day will be Wednesday 9 October. The Students’ Union thanks Katie for her contribution since June and wishes her the best for the future.

Arrangements are being made to ensure students continue to receive effective representation and support, and any students wishing to contact the SU should visit the office on campus or email kent.su@uca.ac.uk.

A by-election will be held at the end of October to appoint a new President Kent for the 2019/20 year. If you are studying at Rochester or Canterbury and are interested in the role, full information including responsibilities and salary can be found at ucasu.com/elections.

The nominations for the by-election will open on Monday 21 October at 10am and close Monday 28 October at 3pm. Current UCA students can nominate themselves for the positions of President Kent, Campus Executive Officer, School Officer, or NUS delegate at ucasu.com/elections. All you have to do is fill out some simple information about yourself and submit a manifesto. Voting will open on Wednesday 30 October at 10am and close on Thursday 31 October at 3pm, with results announced later that evening. Voting will be by paper ballot near the canteen on each campus.
