Tagged – a big hit at UCA!

The new social sport on campus which runs every Monday night has been a big hit amongst students and is now recruiting new participants to join the fun, social activity which is designed for beginners.

For the next three weeks we will be running workshops for beginners at the start of each session on Monday evenings so if you are brand new to the sport it doesn’t matter, these sessions are designed for complete beginners so you wont be out of your depth.

The aim of Tagged is to get people who haven’t played Rugby before or who may have played Tag rugby at primary school back into a fun, social and relaxed non contact (there’s not tackling!) sport without the seriousness of playing in a club.

Tagged will be offering weekly sessions every Monday from 7-8pm at Weydon School. We meet at the SU at 6.30 and travel down together,so why not come along and give it a try for yourself?

It doesn’t matter if you are a complete beginner or have player before, everyone is welcome.

Here’s what some of our students had to say about Tagged.

“I played Tag when I was quite young and I decided I really liked it, so I decided why not give it a try and came along."

"The first few sessions were really good, everyone is really friendly and if you don’t really know what your doing you can ask someone and they will help you in the right direction."

Georgia Norman - "If anyone is thinking of giving it a go I’d say brave it and come down you’ll make great friends here and everyone looks after each other.”

“I recently joined UCA, and I haven’t done a team sport in a while and I thought this would be fun."

"The first sessions have been brilliant, I like the way it started, even when it rained we still have fun."

Georgia Webb -  "I know some people struggle to make friends when they join university. Everyone here is lovely and it’s a great way to meet new friends.”

“I wanted to get healthier, but I also wanted to do a sport which was fun but not as competitive as other sports or clubs."

"I thought it was great fun, everyone was welcoming."

Oliver Dougal -  "Definitely try it, its great fun and you’ll get healthier too!”

“I played at primary school but haven’t played for ages and wanted to get fit and healthy again and thought it would be a good way to do that!"

"It is really good fun, you should give it a go, its easy to follow and everyone is really friendly.”  Michaela Wilson
