Canterbury-based Animate Arts Company have got in touch with loads of volunteering opportunities over the summer! They have a selection of great opportunities for volunteers to gain experience and help them to make their events run smoothly.

HERNE BAY FESTIVAL WORKSHOPS - working with artist team to support children and families to create sculptures and costumes for a street parade in Herne Bay

  • Monday 15 August, 10am - 4pm (set-up at 9.30am)
  • Tuesday 6 August, 10am - 4pm (set-up at 9.30am)
  • Thursday 18 August, 10am - 4pm (set-up at 9.30am)
  • Saturday 20 August, 11am - 3pm (set-up at 10.30am)


HERNE BAY FESTIVAL PARADE - working with artist team to support children carrying artworks in the parade

  • Saturday 20 August, 8pm (set-up from 6pm, & finish approx. 10.30pm)


HOME TOWN - working with professional artists to install an interactive installation called Home Town, on UKC campus for bOing Festival.

  • Thursday 25 & Friday 26 August, full day (times TBC) @ Gulbenkian, Canterbury


INSPIRAR - working in Jarman Gallery (UKC) to install an amazing exhibition of 335 cardboard mini-houses like the Favelas in Rio!

  • Friday 26 August, full day (TBC)


HOME TOWN - interactive installation (invigilation, performance roles, support artist team roles)

  • Sat 27 & Sun 28 August, 9-6pm @ Gulbenkian, Canterbury
