Firstly, welcome to the UCA Students’ Union.
The Students’ Union exists to represent students.
We also provide a range of services for you, for example clubs and societies, training, opportunities for you to volunteer, course reps and advice on your course and social events.
When you become a student at UCA you automatically become a member of the Students’ Union. You elect the officers and trustees that run the Union on your behalf. Policies can be changed by you for Officers to campaign on your behalf. The Union is dependent on volunteers to help organise charity events, run societies and sports clubs, become course reps or stand for a campus representative to help your campus union.
The Union is run by students, for students.
We hold a range of commercial services which generate funds to put directly back into our Union and let you have fun! This enables us to campaign for better Union facilities, more books in the library, better teaching quality, improvements to student life and your experience at UCA.
The Union is a really fun organisation to get involved in, so if you’re interested or simply want to play sport, act, campaign or party the Union is the place for you. We need you to be part of it in order for the Union to continue to grow and develop.
Once you arrive at UCA if you spot any of the Union team around say hello, ask a question, the team are all happy to help with anything we can.

So who exactly are all these people that make up the Union and what do they do for you?
The Campus Officers are full-time sabbaticals who were elected by the students of UCA. They all graduated from UCA in the last year or two and know this place inside out! They are elected to represent YOU to the University to make sure you get the best university experience possible. Meet them here.
The Staff Team support the work of the Campus Officers to help with the day-to-day smooth running of the Union and everything it gets up to.

A big part of the Union’s work is to help you pursue your interests outside of your academic time. This could mean getting involved with voluntary work, fundraising or maybe getting involved with a club or society.
The Students’ Union relies on volunteers to help it function, and who better to help us out than the people who know exactly what it’s like to be a student here! You can play a crucial role in the University experience of you and your friends by volunteering with the Union. Click on the links below to find out more about the things you can get involved in.

Another way to get involved is to join a club or society. There are all sorts of clubs and societies on offer, we hope you can find one to suit you.
