THE SUEI JOURNEY
The eventual development of the Students’ Union Evaluation Initiative has been driven by a fundamental desire to make a positive difference to the lives of members whilst they remain students by improving the outcomes of the work of Students’ Unions.
Although this will remain paramount, and will provide a focus for the work, there are some more specific aims which are intended to be achieved through the Model’s introduction:
■ To increase the trust and confidence in Students’ Unions from all in the Education sector and beyond
■ To promote the legitimacy of Students’ Unions to members, funders and other stakeholders
■ To encourage learning within and amongst Unions by identifying good practice from within and without the sector and to promote increased collaboration
■ To enable new developments designed to enhance effective management
■ To promote effective governance ■ To increase the effectiveness of Students’ Unions ■ To improve the services offered to members
