If you have a particular interest that you would like to continue at UCA, you could start your own society. If you have spotted a potential gap in the market, you’ll know what you want to do and what you want to get out of the
activity.
Before You Start!
Contact your campus officer who will be able to help you move towards getting the club running. If at any time you feel you need some help, then email, phone or drop into any of the Students’ Union offices and talk to the staff or officers and we are always happy to offer advice and assistance.

The SU has some funds available to students for one-off activities. This is generally reserved for clubs and societies but is open to all students to apply. Grants applications can be made for all sorts of reasons and activities, for example, expanding your club or society with a one-off purchase of equipment that is not included in the budget or an educational trip away from university. Applications are made to the Chair of the Clubs and Societies Committee.

All clubs and societies have to fill out a risk assessment regardless of their activity. The risk assessment is broken into two parts. The first half is filled out by the club or society president and the second half by the SU staff.
